Μακαρίνοι - Ξωτικά [Elves]

“Makarini” mainly live in the woods, in tree hollows and caves. Old people were calling them vagabonds, rascals, rogues, but they are also known by many other names. Their common trait is ugliness. They are scary with a look full of grief. Normally they have a big nose and their ears grow throughout the entire lifetime, as it happens with people. Time does not make them age, but they are afraid of feeling bad for something or getting sad, because great sorrows can kill them. That is why, although good at heart, they tease and laugh at people, to make fun of them. They also dread their shadow and fire; they prefer to stay invisible.
